These gaskets are made of a material we call Kevlar® Premium. This material combines the strength of Kevlar® fiber and the elevated temperature resistance of graphite. In addition, special additives are used to improve extrusion resistance, stress relaxation, and to enhance sealability. Head gaskets feature a Kevlar® coated steel core, a stainless steel fire ring, and a clear anti-stick compound that is added to the Kevlar® Premium facing.
