695 Powerglide™ Steady Roll Tappets It is no secret to us at JIMS® (and to top engine builders) that high performance V-Twin engines require more valve lift than stock designs. This substantially increases the loads on the tappet rollers, which can lead to failure. We are also fully aware that tappet roller failure always brings about other problems. Broken needle rollers allow the tappet roller to deform, causing cam lobe damage. Pieces of the hard rollers, as well as debris from the cam can easily contaminate other parts, such as cam plates, bearings, oil pumps, and other tappets. Ultimately, a complete engine tears down and oil system flush are required in the event of tappet roller breakage. To remedy this, we have replaced the needle rollers with a special bronze alloy bushing and attached the new roller assembly to JIMS proven “Powerglide™” tappets. An added bonus to increased reliability and longer life is quieter operation due to the tighter tolerances this design allows. JIMS has invested in new machinery that controls the hydraulic unit fitment tolerance within .00015”. Note: The new JIMS tappet roller is the ONLY one of its kind and we can virtually guarantee the exclusive use of them will eliminate the problem of needle rollers and pieces damaging the engine. This failsafe design means even if the bushing wears out, it will be retained in the tappet assembly. Our new made in USA tappet roller assemblies are available for both Twin Cam and Evolution® engines. POWERGLIDE II Advantage The powerglide II, has all the advantages of it's predecessor - billet body, superior hydraulic unit, roller perpendicularity held to .0002", hand-honed hydraulic unit cavity and now includes the following advantage. • The total dynamic load capacities have been increased over 30% straight across the board. • The lubrication capacities for the hydraulic unit and valve train (top end) have increased 10% • The lubrication capacities for the roller, cam and cam bearig have increased 100%. (increased cooling). • This tappet replaces and surpasses H-D No. 18538-99B Twin Cam Powerglide II Tappet 53-23551 Use on all Twin Cam 1999-present, also Sporster and Buell 2000-present. Standard O.D is 8420 Is it hydraulic? Or is it solid? Introducing Jims® Hydrosolid Tappets. This amazing tappet has broken the barriers of previous tappet designs. This tappet performs like a hydraulic tappet from start up to about 5500 r.p.m., and then turns into a solid from 5600 r.p.m. to your set r.p.m. rev limiter. At the same time it becomes a solid, it also adds about 3-6 more usable horsepower. What this all comes down to is that about the time your springs start to surge and go into harmonic distortion and the tappet rollers start lofting off the back side of the cam, you can be at ease knowing that your JIMS® Hydrosolid Tappet will not pump up allowing your valves to hit. Must use adjustable pushrods. Big Twin hydrosolid tappet This tappet replaces and surpasses H.D.® OEM# 18523-86 and S&S® OEM# 33-5341 53-0085 Use on Big Twin 84-99, Sportster 86-90 and Buell® 87-90.
