514 S&S CAMSHAFTS FOR 91-UP XL FITMENT • 91-Up Harley-Davidson® Sportster® • 94-02 Buell® APPLICATIONS S&S 500: Bolt-in that cam that provides excellent torque with stock or ported heads. Great for modified engines up to 89" displacement and 9.0:1 to 10.5:1 compression ratio. Will work in 89" to 100" engines with less than 9.0:1 compression. Normal clearancing checks recommended. 2000- 6000 rpm. Requires adjustable pushrods. S&S 555: For 74"-100" engines with 9.5:1 to 11.5:1 compression ratio. Provides broad torque curve from 3500-6500 rpm using ported stock heads or S&S heads. Requires adjustable pushrods, spring spacing and normal clearance checks. 3000-6500 rpm. S&S 600: The standard cam included in 4" bore S&S engines. For engines larger than 89" with 9.5:1 to 10.5:1 compression ratio and S&S heads. Great addition to a S&S 103" Sidewinder® kit. Requires adjustable pushrods, crankcase clearancing and spring spacing. 3500-6500 rpm. With the exception of the "bolt-in" 500 camshafts, S&S cams are high lift and are designed to take advantage of the extra flow of ported stock heads or S&S Super Stock® heads. Due to the high lift of these cams, spring spacing and minor clearancing is required for proper installation. If your shop installs a lot of performance cams in single cam big twin engines, this kit can save you a lot of time and aggravation. The S&S Cam Installer Parts Kit contains a variety of parts that you need to correctly install a new camshaft. First there is a five pack of S&S cam bearings. It is standard practice to replace the cam bearing any time a new cam shaft is installed. These are the early style full roller type bearings recommended for any high performance application. Also included are five each of a variety of S&S cam thrust washers for adjusting end-play of the camshaft. Thrust washers range from .050” to .090” thickness in increments of .010”. In addition, the kit contains five cam lock washers, five cam seals, and one pinion nut. The cam installer kit is supplied in a handy vinyl divider box with re-order numbers on the inside of the cover for easy location and reordering of parts. 50-331025 S&S Cam Installer Kit Replacement cam needle bearings and other related parts are available to properly install a new camshaft.
